STASH #14: Samsung NX1000

Say 'HI!' to my new baby!

Price tag: $845

Have been looking for a good camera for quite some time and this caught my eye. Salesman at Tampines Courts was really helpful and patient in explaining the functions to a camera idiot like me. Of course, I won't buy without asking for free gifts to be thrown in.

1. $100 Takashimaya voucher
2. extra battery
3. wide lens
4. tripod stand
5. 16GB SD card
6. lens cleaning kit
7. camera bag

Why this camera is good:
1. functions comparable to dslr (20.3 megapixels APS-C Size CMOS Sensor)
2. comes with a standard lens + pancake lens (wide lens rocks) or telezoom lens
3. it's white
4. the snapping sound makes you look pro
5. wifi enabled(can upload your pictures directly to facebook, instagram, etc)
6. your smart phone can be used as a remote to take photos on a tripod
7. awesome photos at night and against the light
8. takes good jump/moving shots

For those who are amateur like me, an APS-C Size CMOS Sensor is an image sensor format which is similar to many dslr cameras out in the market. The larger the image sensor format, the more light it can capture, the better the quality of the image capture. From what the salesperson told me, many other digital cameras of similar price range do not have this.

Why not?
1. the zoom sucks (unless you choose the free zoom lens to the wide lens)
2. detachable flash (inconvenient)

Some of the photos I took with this camera. Check them out, I think they are awesome!
