STASH #9: Art Friend

Love art and craft? Then you will be familiar with Art Friend. With a store opened in Buona Vista MRT, close to my home, I started to spend more on art and craft materials. There's a recent trend in stamping, but the stamps are usually quite pricy. So let me show you how you can stamp cheaply:

Rubber clear stamps $1.80 each

All you need is to find small wooden blocks to stick these rubber fellows on and stamping will be made easier. Check out my next post to see where to find cheap wooden blocks!

Stamp pads are a must of course! Can't remember the exact costs but it's about $3 per ink pad. Many colours to choose from and cheap!

STASH #8: Sydney!

This is a special post with deals I got from my recent trip to Australia, Sydney! Sydney is really a beautiful, safe country, with fantastic weather and sunny beaches. Cost of living, however, was a little on the high side though. Our taxi ride from airport to the hotel is almost 70 aussie bucks! *faints*
Each meal we ate there was close to 20 bucks per pax. So I didn't expect to find cheap stuff there, but I did! *pat on my back*

Gloss Bun Enhancer (size s) @ $3.95AUD

I bought a bun enhancer at a flea market previously but they only have one size and I was disappointed because I have fine and thin hair, which was not sufficient to fully cover the bun enhancer inside. So when I spotted this from the glass window, I immediately went in to get it. Indeed it was the right size for me!

Some of the bun designs you can make with the bun enchancer -taken from Gloss website

mine!

Equip Necklace $7AUD

Nail Polish at a budget store near Paddy's Market $2AUD each

Pendant chain from Jay Jay's $2AUD

Models Prefer 'The Classic Compact' and 'The Must Have Shadows Compact' from Priceline
$4AUD each

One of my best buys in Sydney, I spotted this in Priceline, a beauty, health and wellbeing shop similar to Watsons. I haven't tried the products yet, but hmm.. how bad can it be?

Chi Chi Lipstick (Bombshell) from Equip $18.95AUD

I knowwwww... this is not exactly cheap. It was my last day at Sydney, I haven't been able to find much cheap stuff to buy and felt the itch to buy something in case I regret, and since the salesgirl was nice and friendly to find a suitable nude lipstick for my skin colour, I decided to just buy it. Phew.

Because of my fair skinned, nude wasn't suitable for me (I looked like a dead corpse kept in the freezer), so she recommended this dusty pink nude colour from Chi Chi, which comes with a lipgloss below. The texture is really creamy and long lasting, 'enriched with beeswax, calendula, vit E, evening primrose and jojoba oil. The only down side is that somehow the cap is really lose and tend to slightly open up inside my cosmetic bag.

Just in case you are looking for lipsticks in sydney, and is budget conscious, you can also find much cheaper lipsticks at Equip, going for about $4AUD per stick. There are also other affordable cosmetics as well.

I shopped at Queen Victoria Building, a classic and elegant shopping mall along George Street. Take the escalator down to the basement to find Gloss, Equip and other shops that cater to the younger adults at affordable prices.

STASH #7: Bugis Street

If you are budget like me, Bugis Street is definitely a must-go place! I never like to buy clothes or accessories that are common, looks cheapo or of poor workmanship. Cheap doesn't mean the quality has to be compromised. Recommended by a friend to this accessories shop on the second floor, which is totally awesome - rows and rows of pretty and colourful earrings, rings, necklace and hair ties. Too bad I have sensitive skin, otherwise I will go ga-ga over the earrings! Most earrings, rings and hair ties were going for $5 for 3. Look at what I got!

all $5 for 3

Love love love the coloured overlapping rings on my second and fourth fingers. The colour combination is perfect. Eye-catching yet not too flashy. The rings on my third finger goes for simplicity, yet unique with the dolphin and fishy designs. Don't you just love the vintage owl ring on my last finger as well?

A new ring shop and more rings to add to my overflowing collection of rings!

STASH #6: Watsons

Watsons is like trusted friend, always nearby whenever I needed to get basic necessities urgently. Of course the frequent discounts and members' sale is a plus!

Lucidol-L Design Whip Hair Foam for Wavy Hair $4
(@Holland Village: half price! sorry guys, I grabbed the only 2 cans left)

Watsons Beer Volumizing Treatment Wax $7.90 for 2
(most outlets: beer is supposedly effective to increase hair volume. huge tub, one-for-one, there's no reason not to buy!)

Clean&Clear Morning Burst Facial Scrub $5
(@Holland Village outlet: do you know you have to exfoliate your face about once every 3 days to remove dead skin? I usually buy the $2 ordinary Clean&Clear scrub from Watsons, but this fresh new product was going for $5 instead of the usual $8. How to resist?)

No harm taking a quick glance at the sales items everytime you pass by Watsons. Since these are necessities, you will have to buy them sooner or later, so why not stock up while they are cheap?

STASH #5: SIX accessories

SIX accessories are normally a little pricy (for my standard), especially if you purchase at their flagship store in Bugis+. Sometimes you will find SIX accessories at department store bazaars, at Sasa or at one of my favourite shopping hang-out, Anchorpoint. Unfortunately, it seemed to have shifted out of Anchorpoint recently =(. There is still another one at Vivo City and you should check it out before it close down!
There is a HUGE variety of earring and ring designs. You will also find necklace, hair accessories, anklets and belly button rings as well. Best of all, they are perpetually on sale at some outlets, like the one in Anchorpoint and Vivo City.

These are what I got during one of my accessories haul at Anchorpoint outlet!

Amethyst Teardrop Studs $1

Set of 3 earrings $2

Square gemstone necklace $1
Warrior necklace $1

Rings at $1 - $2 each

Plastic rose ring $1 - $2 each

Chained headband $2
(which I conveniently used as a necklace)
