STASH #46: Hair products

It is good to have long hair, because you can play with so many different kind of hairstyles and accessorize with hair clips, bands and pins for different looks. Therefore it is important to look after your mane to keep them healthy, smooth, shiny and soft all the time for easy maintenance

For me, I have really dry, frizzy and fine hair. It gets difficult at times because they look so untidy most of the time. After rebonding, my hair will be much neater but very flat cos of my fine hair. I tried curling too and now I have the volume but my hair gets frizzy at the top and dry at the tips. I also dyed my hair to a lighter brown to give the illusion of layers and more luscious hair, but my hair got drier and more damaged.

Let me share some of the products that I've using at the moment to tame my hair. As a super budget yet spendthrift person, the products I use are very pocket friendly! I haven't found a perfect product, but a combination of these products does work well for my hair!

Lucido-l Designing Tube Hair Cream
I started using this product not long ago and i love how it holds my unruly curls together and moisturise them at the same time. It does not feel sticky or oily and works well in Singapore's humid weather - does not make my hair limpy after one whole day at work. It smells nice too!

Lucido-l Hair Treatment Water
This is one of the first Lucido-l product I tried. It is very light weight and gets absorbed into your hair real quick. I used to spray this on my out-of-bed hair first thing in the morning because it makes my hair less tangled and easier to comb.

Lucido-l Designer Whip Hair Foam
I got this at a discounted price of $4 at Guardian early this year. So cheap must buy right? I bought the last 2 cans. This product is really interesting because it comes out as foam to be applied to your hair. As like other Lucido-l products, it gets absorbs into the hair very quickly and does not leave an oily or sticky feeling. It does hold my curls up, but end of the day my hair felt a little limpy. Frizz of my hair remains unchanged and I also find this a little drying to my hair.

 Keratinology by Sunsilk
Korean Bounce Overnight Treatment
I tried the overnight treatment under the korean bounce series and I love love love it! It is really lightweight and my hair become magically softer and smoother immediately!

Keratinology by Sunsilk
Advance Reconstruction Program
After my first very good impression of the power of keratinology, I moved on to try the hair spray under another series and I love it just as much! This spray works like magic on my tangled messy hair every morning. Just a few sprays and my hair is set and ready to be styled. I will definitely want to try out the whole set!

Sunsilk Frizz and Weather Defence Leave-on Conditioner
Bought a small travel size since it only cost $2 at Watsons. Looks creamy but feels watery and leaves no residue on your hands after application. Unlike other leave-no conditioner, it does not create the "wet look" after applying. Does reduce frizz by a little but for hair with curls, you will probably need another product to set your hair in place.

L'Oreal Smooth-Intense Anto-Frizz Serum

I've been using this serum for as long as I remember. I even recommended this to my dad and bf and both of them love it too! It does reduce frizz and leaves your hair feeling smooth and shiny. This product is a little oily to the feel (otherwise how to be shiny, right?) but does not limp your hair. I love the light smell of this serum as well.

L'Oreal Elvive Extronary Oil
Honestly, I have not tried this oil yet, but saw awesome reviews on this. This also seemed like a improved version of the serum oil which I'm currently using, hence tempting me to get one soon! Besides it's only about $22, definitely worth trying!

Redken 14 Curl Bounce
Recommended by my hairstylist after doing korean perm, this is great to maintain your curls on damp hair. Blowdry your hair after that for bouncier hair. But for lazy me... i did it for about 2 weeks and gave up. haha. Cost about $50 but would be a good buy if you are hardworking to use it on your curls daily. All you need is the cream of about 2cm long for medium length hair just over your shoulders.

STASH #44 : Cotton On

Bought these simple yet edgy looking rings for only $0.50 each set at the anchorpoint outlet!

Look at my loot from Cotton On online too!

Pretty in pink book holder littered with birds for only $3 each. Before sale price was $7.95.

Love love love this set of hobo looking bracelets! Can't remember the price but it is at most $2.50 only. Have a closer look at this lovely arm candy at OOTD #15!

This arm candy was a quite disappointing though. Looks classy in the picture, but the quality was more of accessories for little girls.

Bought this cover in purple for my dad too. He loved it! Super versatile with great protection. For only $14.95!

Couldn't control and bought another notebook for $2!

bought this in pink for about $2 as well. Got another set which is gold with zebra prints as well. Can't get enough of pretty stuff!

STASH #43: Eyeliner Review

Ask me one make-up product that I cannot live without and my answer would be EYELINER. It's like the best make-up invention, especially for Asian eyes and single eyelids. Just a stroke of the brush and you get immediate big, wide eyes!

Maybelline Gel Eyeliner

This is one of the first eyeliner I tried and fell in love with. I still remembered i started out with pencil eyeliner, was easy to use but smudge easily with my oily eyelids. Maybelline Gel Eyeliner is affordable, easy to use, with a strong colour! It's waterproof but not smudge-proof, and cannot draw thin strokes. Nonetheless, it does not smudge as much as pencil and the texture is thick enough to last through a long day. Comes in black and brown as well! Brown is good for days with light make-up!

Kate Liquid Eyeliner

This is the first liquid eyeliner i tried. I love the fact that it has 2 sides - an ultra thin brush for super fine lines and a crayon-like brush which smudges brown colour. This eyeliner is easy to use because the tip is so thin, you can slowly paint your eyelids and cover up flaws easily since the surface area is smaller.
For a more smokey effect, use the crayon-like brown side to line my bottom lids near the waterline.

However, downside is that the colour does not come out strong on the lids and it's rather difficult to remove. Everytime after removal, there is still a light layer of eyeliner mark that seems too stubborn for removal.

Nature Republic and Missha Eyeliner

My bro helped me to buy these liquid eyeliners from Korea and they are both quite awesome! Ultra thin brush, strong eyeliner colour and dries very quickly. In order to put the products into test, I used both eyeliners, one for each eye for a few days to see what's the difference.

In terms of application and colour, Nature Republic's eyeliner does a better job. The colour was darker, and glides through my lids evenly and smoothly. Missha's not bad too just that I find the appplication a little uneven and I had to go over one more time to smoothen the colour out.

On days where I only had sun screen on my face, my lids tend to get oily easily, causing the eyeliner colour to run. As I wipe through the eyelids, the Nature Republic's eyeliner could be rubbed off easily, while the Missha's one stays on better.

I tried both eyeliners on again, this time with eye primer, and both managed to stay on better, though the Nature Republic's one still seems less smudge-proof.

My favourite? I'm in a dilemma. I'm using all of these concurrently depending on occasion and convenience!

STASH #41: Mitju Sale - Aftermath

What happens after a warehouse sale!
10 pairs of shoes and a clutch. I'm soooooo delighted!
9 out of 10 pairs are bought at 1 for $8, 2 for $12. The brown strappy heels cost $20, but I think it's super pretty so it's worth it.

I've always loved Mitju shoes for their design, comfort and affordable prices. 2 years ago when the sale was at Tai Seng, every pair was going for $10. Last year when the sales was moved to SCAPE, the price was higher but I still got many cheap steals. This year was definitely more expensive, lesser designs and variety.
Not that the designs are bad! But I kinda took some shoes to make up the number or just can't go home empty handed so must buy a few pairs. Haha.

And next, a photo parade of my newly bought shoes!
